Weston Hospicecare's popular Pines for Pounds Christmas tree collection returns for yet another year in January 2024.
The charity initiative, supported by local Rotary clubs, Weston Lions, Somerset Young Farmers, and Weston Hospicecare, provides a Christmas tree collection service in exchange for a donation.
Residents of specific postcodes can book a collection slot online for January 6.
Eligible postcodes are as follows: BS22, BS23, BS24, BS25, BS26, BS27, BS29, BS40, BS49, TA8 and TA9.
On the day of collection, make sure the trees are placed in an obvious collection location, such as being visible on the side of the road.
Community fundraising manager of Weston Hospicecare, Kirsty Simmons, said: "Are you planning on buying a real Christmas tree this year?
"We are thrilled to see Pines for Pounds become a huge community collaboration involving various local organisations and businesses.
"The collection saves everyone with a real Christmas tree within the collecting area a trip to the recycling centre.
"It's such a fantastic idea and saves us all a job while supporting a local charity and making a huge difference to people locally."
The last event raised over £17,000 for the hospice, totalling a significant £29,500 over the three years it has been running.
Weston Rotary's Pauline Land said: "We're delighted to be involved in supporting Pines for Pounds once again.
"It's such an incredible initiative and we cannot wait to play our part on January 6."
For the first time, Weston Lions will also be lending their support to the initiative.
Grant Parris, from Weston Lions, said "This is the first year that Weston Lions are supporting this fabulous cause and we cannot wait."
Interested supporters can now book slots via the charity's website.
The donations collected support the day-to-day operations of Weston Hospicecare delivering vital support to individuals suffering from life-limiting illnesses and their families.
It provides free services which include a Day Hospice, a ten-bed In-Patient Unit, the Wellbeing Centre, a team of Hospice Community Nurse Specialists, and a Family Support Team.
