THE Environment Agency have issued a flood alert for rivers in North Somerset.
Residents are advised to monitor local water levels and weather conditions, and avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
Those living in the affected areas should start acting on their flood plans.
The flood alert area encompasses anyone living near to the following North Somerset Rivers and tributaries:
- Congresbury
- Yeo,
- Cheddar Yeo,
- Axe
A detailed map issued by the Environment Agency shows the alert starts in Weston-super-Mare, and spans as far north as Clevedon, and inland across Congresbury and towards the Nailsea and Backwell areas.
