A BUSINESS which had to move following the closure of Weston's quarry launched its new café last weekend.
At the end of August, the quarry closed due to concerns with the buildings that housed studios and a café.
Rowan Tree Tea Room had to move out, casting doubts as to whether the business would be able to survive.
However, on Saturday (October 14), owner David Lewis and his team opened up their weekend Cake Café at The Stable.
The tea room serves a limited savoury menu, featuring sandwiches, paninis and savoury scones.
David told the Weston Mercury: "We had a great turnout for our first weekend opening at The Stable, Wadham Street.
"It was lovely to see so many of our regular customers from the Old Town Quarry and also some new ones!
"A big thank you to The Stable, we are grateful for this opportunity after the closure of the quarry."
The café is open on Saturdays from 9am - 4pm and Sundays from 10am - 4pm.
