TIME is running out to register for the Solar Together scheme, which could help you reduce your carbon footprint.
North Somerset Council is working once again with the West of England Combined Authority (WECA) and independent group-buying collective iChoosr Ltd in the second round of Solar Together.
The scheme uses the collective bargaining power of households, businesses and community groups to purchase high quality solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and batteries.
This is done at a more competitive price than buying and installing direct.
The first round of the scheme took place in 2021. 3,000 solar panels were installed in properties across the region.
Residents have until October 27 to register.
Cllr Annemieke Waite, executive member for climate, said: “A key component of our ambition to reduce emissions and reach net zero by 2030 is to improve access to renewable energy.
"The more households, businesses and community groups that participate in Solar Together, the better the price we can secure, plus more renewable energy will be generated."
Nearly 1,800 registrations have already been received for round two of the scheme.
Those who already have solar panels installed can also register to have battery storage added to their existing set-up.
