WINTERSTOKE Hundred Academy has been named as the runner up in The Festival Of Quilt's Secondary School category.
This means that the school is the best in the UK and the second best in Europe.
Tree of Avatar was the name of the quilt, which was based on this year’s competition theme, My future.
Noren Mckinen, Winterstoke Hundred Academy Quilt & Japanese Sashiko Club lead, said: "I was so shocked and chuffed at the same time when I saw the piece on the wall during my visit on the opening day on August 3 as I do every year.
"Never thought in a million years that we would won at international level!
"I just want to extend a massive congratulations to my lovely students who have worked so hard to produce this winning piece: Olivia, Grace, Hannah, Charlotte, Finn, Keana, Chloe, Millie and Filippo.
"You should be extremely proud of your achievement!"
