THE countdown has begun for this year's Stars of Time Comic Con event.

Comic and film fans are expected to flock to the Tropicana on August 19-20. 

The Stars of Time website reads: "Stars of Time has been running for over 11 years! Our comic cons are family friendly and we prioritise on making your day one to remember!

"We currently run two events, one based in Weston-super-Mare and one in Swindon. Our events include guest signings, live performances, movie props, photo opportunities, cosplay competitions and some of the UK’s best traders!"

Those that attend this summer extravaganza by the sea will have the chance to meet some very special guests, including Chris Parsons. Chris is best known for his involvement in the Star Wars Trilogy saga, specifically Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.

In these films, Chris portrayed C-3PO (double), K-3PO, E-3PO, R-3PO, 4-LOM, Death Star Droid, Stormtrooper, Hoth Rebel soldier, Snowtrooper and Hoth Snow Speeder pilot. He has also appeared in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Shining, For Your Eyes Only, and Quadrophenia.

Anton Lesser will also be in attendance. Anton is most recently known for playing Major Partagaz in the TV series Star Wars- Andor and also Qyburn in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

He also has appeared in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides as John Carteret and also as Prime Minister Harold MacMillan in The Crown, Chief Superintendent Bright in Endeavour, Thomas More in Wolf Hall, Gideon in Primeval, Robert in Killing Eve, and Kyros in Atlantis, to name just a few.

Fans will have the opportunity to meet Blue Peter legend Peter Purves, who has appeared in 46 episodes of Doctor Who in the mid 60’s playing Steven Taylor, a companion to the very first Doctor William Hartnell and has recently recorded a number of Big Finish audio dramas reprising the role of Steven.
