A former Weston-super-Mare Mayor presented a cheque to North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together (NSPCWT) recently.
Sonia Russe, who was Mayor between May 2022 and May 2023, presented over a cheque worth £4,500 to the parent carer forum.
Mrs Russe provided a boat outing and lunch at Uphill boat yard for families, two wonderfully inclusive water confidence and learn to float sessions with qualified instructors plus stay and play sessions including a sensory Santa's grotto.
While North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together have attended lunches and evening events to raise the profile of the forum along with vital funding. Overall, this year has been incredibly supportive and important for the forum
This positive partnership finishes as Mrs Russe steps down as Mayor, passing over the role to Cllr Ciaran Cronnelly.
"On behalf of NSPCWT we give our heartfelt thanks to Sonia, her consort David and the rest of the team at the town council for investing time, raising much needed funds and helping to improve opportunities and outcomes for our parent carers, their children and young people” said Kenton Mee, CEO and Director of North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together.
North Somerset Parent Carers Working Together, NSPCWT offer signposting, support, coffee mornings, events, training and wellbeing opportunities for families with children and young people with an additional need or disability between the ages of 0 and 25-years-old.
