Bromley, UK - The business community in Bromley is in for a treat as the inaugural Above and Beyond Bromley Business Awards (The ABBBAs) has officially launched, with nominations open to all businesses across Bromley, London’s largest borough.
The awards have been organised by Life In…Magazines with the headline sponsor confirmed as Tapi Carpets and Floors, and secondary sponsors being London Biggin Hill Airport and Shampan.
The ABBBAs aims to celebrate, inspire and connect Bromley borough businesses as they work collectively and individually to support local growth, causes, and key issues. These awards acknowledge how they have gone ‘above & beyond’ either for their customers, local residents or the wider community.
The first awards in the region post-pandemic, the ABBBAs will feature a total of six categories and 12 awards. They include: Best Startup, Best Non-Profit/Charity, Best Sustainable Business, Best Innovation Business and Best Business (High Street, Independent, and Micro) where businesses can nominate themselves. Members of the public and local businesses are also asked to nominate others for categories including Community Hero, Best Individual, and Business Personality of the Year.
All are available to enter online via the website www.the-abbbas.co.uk until
Friday 8th September.
To give all size businesses the chance to win, the awards will be judged on key criteria and a points system to ensure impartiality.
This new initiative is the brainchild of Lauretta Wright, publisher of Life In…Magazines, which offers two community titles, Life In Orpington and Life In Bromley magazines, both published monthly and distributed to more than 14,000 residents across the Bromley borough.
Lauretta said: “Having worked so closely with Bromley borough businesses over the past four years and hearing first-hand of their incredible efforts, I’m extremely proud of their resilience, capabilities and efforts to help make Bromley a great place to live and work.
“The last time any Bromley business awards were hosted was prior to the Covid pandemic with no plans to reignite them. The ABBBAs bring a different focus to what we’ve seen before. They aim to shine a light on companies who help to support the local economy, despite facing a huge uphill struggle themselves over the last few years. It’s important to highlight and recognise their achievements and strengthen and support the community further with this initiative.”
The ABBBAs are free to enter, and entries can be submitted up until Friday 8th September, with finalists being announced in October. The winners will be announced at a celebratory awards reception on Thursday 9th November at The Warren in Hayes comprising of a three-course meal, fantastic entertainment and ample opportunities for networking.
In addition to the entry opportunity, local businesses can also show their support for the Bromley community and increase their own exposure by sponsoring The ABBBAs, with different sponsorship packages available to suit all budgets.
