A SURGE in visitor numbers led to a record breaking bank holiday weekend at Weston's Grand Pier.
Bosses say the pier experienced an "overwhelming wave of support" as more than 12,000 people flocked to the iconic destination over the three days, leading to record-breaking sales.
There was a huge selection of attractions and rides, including the new axe throwing arcade game and popular F1 simulator.
Tim Moyle, the operations director of The Grand Pier, said he was delighted at the "exceptional turnout".
He said: "The visitor numbers we witnessed this bank holiday weekend were absolutely incredible.
"It's a testament to the appeal of The Grand Pier and we are over the moon.
"Let's hope this sets the tone for a remarkable summer season ahead."
The Grand Pier has welcomed locals and tourists since 1904 with its rich history and extensive range of entertainment.
