WESTON runners are gearing up for the Albert Goodman Weston Super Half Marathon, which will take place this weekend (Sunday, May 14).

The run will start from The Grand Pier at around 9.15am.

Runners will then travel through Somerset's  picturesque surrounding villages and will finish a quarter of a mile out to sea on Weston's Grand Pier.

There will be some road closures. All road closures will begin at 7am on the day and finish as soon as the last of the runners have passed. It is hoped that all roads will be reopened by 1pm.

The roads impacted are:

  • Richmond St (from Marine Parade to Gloucester St).
  • Regent St (from  Marine  Parade to York St).
  •  Carlton St (from Marine Parade to Beach Rd).
  • Marine Parade.
  • Beach Rd.
  • Links Rd.
  • Uphill Way.
  • Uphill Rd South (Westbound Lane Closure from Uphill Way to Grange Rd).
  • Uphill Rd South (from Grange Rd to A370 Bridgewater Rd).
  • A370 Bridgewater Rd Southbound (from Bridgewater Rd to Accommodation Rd).
  • Accommodation Rd (from A370 to Old Wall).
  • Wayacre Drove.
  • Uphill Hill Footpath (between Wayac re Drove and Uphill Marina / Links Rd).
  • Royal Parade.
  • Knightstone Rd.
  • Birnbeck Rd.
  • Birkett Rd.
  • Kewstoke Rd (from Birkett Rd to Beach Rd).
  • Seafront Promenade (from Knightstone Causeway to Regent St Junction / Grand Pier).
