A FLOOD alert for rivers in North Somerset has been issued this lunchtime (Friday, March 31) by the Environment Agency.
The warning covers rivers including Congresbury Yeo, Cheddar Yeo, Axe and tributaries.
Areas that could potentially be flooded due to heavy rainfall include in or around Portishead, Nailsea, Congresbury, Banwell, Weston, Cheddar and Wells.

People are being advised to monitor local water levels and weather conditions and to avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
