A DAYCARE centre for children with additional needs has been rated 'outstanding' following a visit by inspectors.

Ofsted found the charity group was 'outstanding' in all four areas of probing.

Springboard Opportunity Group was formed in 1986 by a group of parents who all had pre-school age children with special educational needs and could not find the support they required during their children's early years.

Now the group helps children with a learning disability, physical difficulties or life-limiting conditions.

The report said: "Parents are extremely happy with the support they receive and the progress their children make.

"Children attending this specialist setting receive exceptional teaching and learning from highly qualified, caring and dedicated staff.

"They are exceptionally happy, safe and secure."

Parents also told inspectors the impact of the schooling has been 'life-changing' for their children.

Springboard CEO, Ruth Glover, said: "I am incredibly proud to be leading Springboard Opportunity Group into the future.

"I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and for the care and support they consistently offer to children and families.

"We really do have a remarkable team."

Springboard Weston meet at Ashcombe Children's Centre, on Stepping Stone Walk.
