BISHOPS from the Diocese of Bath and Wells have shared their warm tributes to the head of the Church of England, Queen Elizabeth.
The Diocese offers Christians a place of worship from Portishead in the north, Minehead in the west, and Frome in the east.
Its two bishops have expressed their deep sadness following the Queen's death.
Revd Michael Beasley, Bishop of Bath and Wells and Revd Ruth Worsley, said: "On behalf of the Diocese of Bath and Wells and the people of Somerset, Bishop Ruth and I would like to express our sorrow at the news of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
"We give thanks for her life. A life of service and daily steadfastness in which the light of Jesus Christ has shone throughout the years. We now commend her to his care and keeping.
"Our churches are open for everyone. To light a candle, say a prayer, sign a book of condolence, lay some flowers, and talk to someone about your feelings and thoughts.
"Let us all give thanks for Queen Elizabeth II. May she rest in peace and rise in glory."
Wells Cathedral will be open for people to attend services, pray and reflect, and to leave floral tributes, and sign a book of condolence.
