WESTON Hospicecare has pulled in almost 6,000 worth of stock to replenish its shop shelves during The Big Drop campaign.
The charity managed to secure more than 1,000 more than when the event was first run in May and saw 450 bags donated by the community over one week.
Big Drop sites were situated around Weston, including Worlebury Golf Club, Asda, the hospice in Uphill, Weston College and The Campus at Locking Castle where volunteers collected a staggering 134 bags over the 3 days at the site.
PureComms, a communications company in Clevedon, and the Blagdon and Wrington Friends Group also held Big Drop days and collected more than 70 bags.
Around 50 additional donations were also made to several of Weston Hospicecare’s shops as part of the campaign.
These much needed donations go to Weston Hospicecare shops to be sold and the money raised contributes to running hospice facilities.
The Big Drop will be running again in January 2013, which will give people a chance to get rid of unwanted or unused clothes, household items and furniture.
