A Weston cycling club’s 24-hour charity ride proved to be a huge success and raised more than £1,000.
In2Biking is a charity group which was launched for people with disabilities and aims to teach all abilities new skills.
In order to raise crucial funds, the organisation held a 24-hour cycling race on exercise bikes and specially-adapted cycles.
The cycle covered 1,375km, which is the equivalent of the John O’Groats to Land’s End journey. This was completed in 23 hours and 20 minutes by a relay team of riders with a range of abilities.
Louisa Thomas, event organiser, said: “The ride represented a huge physical challenge for our riders – many who could not participate in a normal road race.”
Lin Thomas, In2Biking project lead, added: “I am so proud and grateful to everyone who supported our event, especially to Locking Castle Church for the use of their facilities.”
