Two long-standing members of a primary school team have stepped down from their roles.
Lin Williams, executive headteacher of the Strawberry Line Federation, which runs Sandford and Winscombe Primary Schools, has retired after 45 years.
A federation spokesman said: “She promised the wow factor on her first day at Sandford and she certainly delivered.
“Many schools in the South West have benefitted from Lin’s mentoring and she leaves behind two of the highest attaining schools in the county.”
Melissa Humphrey, who has been a school governor for 13 years including time as chairman, has also stepped down.
She was instrumental in creating the federation and supported staff through the many changes.
The spokesman said: “The pupils, staff, governors and parents thank both of these strong and compassionate women for their time, efforts, guidance and leadership and wish them well in their future endeavours.”
