Students from the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) made a splash at their first swimming gala.
The event took place at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-super-Mare, with five CLF academies showcasing their aquatic prowess.
Swimmers from from Monkton Wood Academy in Taunton, Hans Price, Winterstoke Hundred, and Broadoak academies in Weston, and King’s Oak Academy in Bristol demonstrated their skills in a variety of disciplines.
These included front crawl, back stroke, breast stroke, and butterfly, all undertaken with significant skill and determination.
In a gripping finale, Monkton Wood surfaced as the winners, closely followed by Hans Price and Winterstoke Hundred.
Organisers commended all participants for displaying exceptional sportsmanship and determination throughout the competition.
Hans Price Academy PE teacher, Chris Green, who organised the gala, said: "This was a first for me organising an event like this, so I did expect some hiccups, but everything ran real smoothly.
"It was a definite success and participation levels were high.
"It was fantastic to see each student represent their academies with pride.
"I hope we can continue to run this event and I anticipate it to be even bigger and better in 2025."
